We never mark up your groceries. You pay exactly what we pay at the counter — every receipt passed straight through. The only thing we charge for is the shopping itself: a single concierge fee set by the number of stores in your order. Sourcing and delivery to your door are both included.

How Membership Works
1
Set up your Larder
Tell us about your household, your favorite stores, and how you like things. We keep your preferences on file, so every shop is tailored to your table.
2
A card on file, kept secure
When you join, we'll set up a card securely on file through Stripe, our payment partner. Larder never sees or stores your card number — Stripe handles it with bank-level encryption.
3
Order your weekly shop
Fill in your list — or simply text it to
(925) 915-0322 — by 6 pm the day before. Nothing is charged when you place an order.
4
Pay only after delivery
Once your shop arrives, we charge your card on file for groceries at exact cost plus the concierge fee, with every receipt attached.
A note on freshness — please refrigerate or freeze anything perishable within two hours of delivery, so everything stays at its best.
How We Set Our Prices
Your groceries cost what they cost.
The big delivery apps quietly price items around 15% above the shelf — it's how they make their money. We hand you the receipts instead. What the store charged us is what you pay, to the penny.
The fee is simply the trip.
Our concierge fee is priced by the number of stores we visit — the honest cost of a professional's time, in line with what skilled errand help runs in the East Bay. On a full basket, it's often less than what the apps add without telling you.
It costs less than the time it buys back.
A proper shop across our purveyors — the butcher, the fish counter, the produce worth choosing by hand — is a three-hour errand. We built the fee to cost less than those hours are worth to the people we serve. That's the whole formula — honest and simple.
We shop where it's best — not where it's priciest.
Knowing the counters doesn't mean paying more. Some of the finest quality in the East Bay — the sashimi-grade fish at Tokyo Fish Market, the produce at Berkeley Bowl — costs less than the supermarket version, if you know where to stand. That knowledge is what the fee buys.
